37 Degrees Baby ClothingNASA for babies9 September 2009Peace of mind at the perfect temperature. 37 degrees is an innovative temperate regulating clothing range for newborns incorporating space age textile technology from NASA. We’re all told that 37 degrees is the optimum body temperature for our babies, and some parents spend hours fretting over how many layers to dress them in, what temperature to have the room at, whether or not to put on that extra blanket or the heater… 37 degrees aims to take away those worries. The UK based company is using smart textiles developed by NASA for use in spacesuits which works ‘by encapsulating and storing heat from the baby’s skin, releasing it only when it is necessary, therefore maintaining the baby’s optimum body temperature of 37 degrees celcius. The fabric also holds an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate which tests for harmful substances. While marketed strongly for newborns, the range goes up to a 4 year old size in some garments, and includes everything from sleeping bags through to pyjamas, playsuits, vests, hats, hoodies, trackpants and more. The brand isn’t available for purchase in New Zealand, but you can purchase directly from the UK based website, with prices starting at £10 for a hat and mittens set, plus shipping. As a small aside, the Mama Mio You’re Amazing Kit contains one of the fabulous 37 degrees white snuggle caps and Mama Mio currently have these on special on The Deal for just $39 NZD (RRP $119 NZD) – we suspect you’ll need to be in quick to score Mamo Mio at these bargain prices though! |
