ClothkitsRemember these?31 July 2009Most of us would have to ask our mothers about Clothkits, but chances are she’ll fondly remember the brand from the 1970’s. After some years, the UK based company has returned, with stylish new takes on the original 70’s designs, creating absolute perfection for retro fans. The kits contain everything you need to sew the garments yourself (yes, you will have to dust off the sewing machine!). The patterns (including cutting lines) are printed directly onto the fabric (fabulous news for those of us who aren’t fans of having to worry about fabric grains and pins), and the kits are fully inclusive of everything you’ll need to complete your project, including thread, buttons and haberdashery. The designs themselves are a fresh and contemporary take on the classics – the funky VW Traffic Dungarees are our personal favorites, and have been designed by People Will Always Need Plates exclusively for Clothkits. If you’re a fan of Scandinavian inspired design check out the pinnies and dresses designed by Jane Foster and for those looking for a slightly more vintage look, the Mini Moderns designed Nana Jigsaw Frock is sure to be a hit. Down under Clothkits can be purchased from Lark with prices starting from $35 AUD plus shipping ($9.95AUD to both Australia or New Zealand). |
