Glass BottlesGlass bottles10 March 2009Since last week’s Good Morning episode featuring NZ's Baby Whisperer, we’ve had a few enquiries about where to find glass baby bottles. With a lot of controversy over the use of BPA in baby bottles (a chemical that can leach from the bottle into your baby’s milk when heated), glass bottles are a fantastic alternative, because they are naturally free of BPA. We can’t guarantee what brand Sharlene Poole was using on the Good Morning segment, but we can tell you about a couple of glass bottle brands available on the NZ market. The Evenflo Classic Glass Bottles are made from strengthened glass that will not scratch, and therefore not harbor bacteria. They are available from Evenflo stockists nationwide, or purchase online from the Nature Baby website from $7.95 each, which also contains some fantastic information on BPA, why it’s a concern, and has alternative orthopedic teats available. Dr Browns Glass Bottles have a unique design that features an internal vent system to prevent air bubbles forming and therefore reduce colic. Dr Browns Glass Bottles are available online from Baby City for $49.99 for a pack of 2. |
