Kate Dixon's Circus RoomRoll up, roll up!Showhouse room of Kate Dixon, Artistic Living Spaces1 June 2010There are some people in the world that are always going to put the rest of us to shame. Kate Dixon is one of them - I mean, whose kid wouldn't love a functioning FERRIS WHEEL in their room for their toys to ride in?! The room is actually a showroom, created for the Symphony Designers Showhouse, but it's a very real room, completely fitted out, everything in place, looking absolutely, mind-blowingly, fabulous. The ferris wheel was created by Kate's father (a metalworker), the cabinetry and bedframe by her brother, and the canopy and window treatment by her mother, so I think it's safe to say the creation and execution of the room was a real family affair! The circus prints were made by Jeff Shumway, the pillows by SOWN designs, and the blanket is from Knitologie. For more pictures, inspiration and a video of the ferris wheel in action, pay a visit to Kate's blog. Via minor details |
